The New Katia Guerreiro Album |

Always has been a “castiço” part in the voice of Katia, and
her background in traditional Portuguese music has a strong presence.
So we can’t be surprised with the energy in which she opens her new
album singing "Vira dos Malmequeres." Loose, lively, popular. But then,
in the next track, Katia turns from the marigolds to the beautiful and
solemn "Arraial” of João Ferreira-Rosa - and so, between "Fado da Sina"
to "Rosinha dos Limões," is between sadness and most popular fado that
she balances the “Fados do Fado”.
It's a classic album, and in good time Katia remembered to record it.
It plays this role of inestimable value to the memory of the fate and
honor to their heritage.
