 The Grand Auditorium of Centro Cultural de Belem (CCB) in
Lisbon, receives the presentation of the debut album of singer Carminho
on 9 December.
'Now is the time to share my "Fado", for the first time in my own name,
in a room that is very special to me. The presentation at the Main
Auditorium is one of the greatest challenges of my short career, "wrote
Carminho in a statement.
"Fado" was released in June and went straight to the second table sales
in Portugal. The debut record of the young singer of 24 years has the
production of Diogo Clemente and special guest bassist Carlos Barretto.
"For many years, there were people who considered me the" great hope
"of Fado. To all of them - who have always had good words for me -
thank you from the heart. But the stamp (you'd call this burden ...)
fell on my shoulders as a huge responsibility. And also why, only now I
recorded my first album.
So far, I have not had felt capable of being able to defend an entire
disk. [...] And of course my first album is called Fado. Could not, and
I say this with humility, to call something else. In a way to respect
to my roots, to the Fado and to myself. And this album is me. My past,
my present and envisions a (possible) way to the future!
